A dissuasive watch-tower.

The last remains of the ancient fortifications of Lausanne city, the Ale tower does not escape anyone with its imposing 21 metre height and 8 metre diameter.Built in 1340, it contributed to the defense of the suburb of Ale, and also served as a keep. The tower was spared from demolition at the end of the 19th century, before being classified as a historic monument in 1900.
